We’ve been focused on one thing lately: making your in-store iPad feel like a true extension of your brand. Since our last announcement (Quiz Kit integration and Live Preview), we’ve shipped a set of updates that make the iPad experience more powerful for shoppers and easier for teams to manage. Here’s what’s new and what it unlocks.
Bring your Shopify pages right into the iPad
You can now add Shopify Pages as iPad tabs. That means your in-store experience isn’t limited to product grids—you can surface content like:
- Your brand story or values
- Shipping and return policies
- In-store exclusives
- FAQs that reduce staff questions
- Any long-form content that builds trust
This unlocks a more narrative, guided journey. Instead of shoppers bouncing between the physical store and your website, you can deliver the same clarity and storytelling right on the iPad. It’s an easy way to make in-store feel as rich as online.
Give shoppers a full catalog search experience We’ve added a new Product Search tab that lets customers explore your entire catalog, even if it’s too large to navigate through collections alone.
Why it matters:
- Shoppers can find what they want quickly, without browsing endless tabs.
- Staff can direct customers to a single “Search” tab for faster assisted sales.
- Large catalogs become much easier to manage in-store.
This is especially powerful for stores with wide assortments, seasonal variants, or deep product lines. It gives shoppers the same discoverability they expect online—right on the iPad.
Octane AI quizzes, now on the iPad
You can now embed Octane AI quizzes as iPad tabs. This is huge for stores that already use Octane AI to guide shoppers to the right products.
What this unlocks:
- Interactive product discovery without needing staff assistance
- A personalized experience that feels helpful, not pushy
- A way to bring your best online conversion tool into the store
If you already have quizzes running on your site, you can now bring the same experience into your retail locations with just a few clicks.
A cleaner, faster iPad setup experience We’ve improved the iPad configuration screen so it’s easier to work with when you have lots of options. Sections are now collapsible, which means:
- Less scrolling and better focus
- Faster setup for new locations
- A smoother experience when making quick edits
It’s a small change, but it adds up when you’re managing multiple devices or trying to launch quickly.
More engaging idle screens with multi-image slideshows
Your idle iPad can now do more than sit still. We’ve expanded the idle screensaver so you can add multiple images and create a rotating slideshow.
What this unlocks:
- Promote seasonal campaigns even when no one is interacting
- Highlight key products, bundles, or services
- Create a more polished, storefront-quality experience
We also made image selection easier by integrating directly with your Shopify content library. That means you can reuse existing brand assets without re-uploading or hunting down links.
New: the guided discovery previewer
We launched a previewer that lets you generate a branded, shareable iPad preview before installing the app. It pulls public Shopify data so you can show your team (or leadership) what the in-store experience will feel like.
How it works:
- Connect your public Shopify domain
- Pick one or two collections to power the guided discovery sample
- Tune your brand colors
- Email the preview link to your team (best on iPad)
Putting it all together
These updates are about one thing: helping you sell more and tell your story better in-store. With rich content tabs, full catalog search, Octane AI quizzes, a cleaner setup flow, and a more dynamic idle screen, your iPad becomes a stronger sales tool—and a stronger brand touchpoint.
If you already use Store Check-In, you can start using these features today in your iPad configuration. If you’re new, this is a great time to see what a modern in-store experience can look like.
