Getting Started with Store Check-In

Welcome to Store Check-In! This guide will help you get up and running quickly with both our Shop App check-in system and interactive kiosks.

What You’ll Need

• A Shopify store (any plan)
• A tablet or touchscreen device for kiosk mode (optional)
• 10 minutes to complete setup

Step 1: Install the App

1. Visit the Store Check-In app page in the Shopify App Store
2. Click “Add app”
3. Review and approve the app permissions
4. The app will be installed and you’ll be redirected to the dashboard

Step 2: Configure Your Store Settings

Basic Store Information

1. Store Name: Enter your business name as you want it to appear to customers
2. Logo URL: Add your logo (recommended size: 200x200px)
3. Primary Color: Choose your brand’s main color for buttons and accents

Set Up Collections for Kiosk

1. Go to Shopify Admin → Products → Collections
2. Create or select collections you want to display on kiosks:
   • “Featured Products”
   • “New Arrivals”
   • “Subscriptions”
   • “Seasonal Items”
3. Make sure collections contain active, published products

Step 3: Enable Shop App Check-Ins

Shop App check-ins allow customers with the Shop app to check into your store with one tap:

1. In Store Check-In dashboard, go to Check-In Settings
2. Toggle “Enable Shop App Check-Ins”
3. Customize your check-in message
4. Save settings

Your store is now ready for Shop app users to check in!

Step 4: Set Up Your First Kiosk (Optional)

Quick Setup

1. Get a tablet (iPad, Android, or Windows touchscreen)
2. Open a web browser and go to https://kiosk.storecheckin.com
3. Add the page to your home screen for best experience
4. Enter your store URL when prompted
5. Note the pairing code displayed

Authorize the Device

1. Return to Store Check-In dashboard
2. Go to Device Management
3. Click “Sync New Device”
4. Enter the pairing code from your tablet
5. Click “Authorize”

Your kiosk is now live and ready for customers!

Step 5: Test Your Setup

Test Shop App Check-In

1. Download the Shop app on your phone
2. Search for your store and follow it
3. Visit your physical store
4. Open Shop app and tap “Check In” when prompted
5. Verify the check-in appears in your Store Check-In dashboard

Test Kiosk Functionality

1. On your kiosk device, browse your product collections
2. Add a few items to cart
3. Generate QR code
4. Scan with your phone camera
5. Complete a test purchase (you can cancel before payment)
