Store Check‑In Kiosk is a Progressive Web App that turns any in‑store tablet into a touch‑optimised catalog where shoppers can add products—one‑time or subscription—to their Shopify cart and scan a single QR code to complete payment in the store’s normal Shopify Checkout on their own phone. Because it relies on Shopify’s standard cart links and Subscription API, it works seamlessly with Recharge, Shopify Subscriptions, and any other app that adopts the same framework.

How It Works

  1. Real‑time catalog & plans The kiosk pulls product, variant, inventory, and selling‑plan data directly from Shopify, so prices and subscription options are always up‑to‑date.
  2. Single QR for the entire cart As the shopper adds items, the kiosk builds one cart permalink—including any selling_plan_ids—and encodes it as a QR code ready to scan.
  3. Checkout on the shopper’s phone Scanning the QR launches the store’s regular Shopify Checkout, preserving Shop Pay speed, fraud protection, and analytics.

Step‑by‑Step Setup

1 · Install & Open

  • Install Store Check‑In from the Shopify App Store and open it inside Shopify Admin.

2 · Device Management

  1. Click Device Management in the app sidebar.
  2. If this is your first store, click Add Location. Locations can mirror Shopify locations, but it’s not mandatory.

3 · Configure the Kiosk

  • Store Information – Enter Store Name, optional Page Title, and a Logo URL.
  • Tab Configuration – Add Tabs to organise products; each tab maps to a Shopify Collection. Use a “Subscriptions” collection for in‑store sign‑ups, a “Pre‑Orders” tab for advance sales, etc.
  • UI Customisation – Pick primary, secondary, background, and text colours to match your brand.

4 · Prepare Your Device

  1. On an iPad, Android tablet, or Windows touch display, open https://kiosk.storecheckin.com in Safari or Chrome.
  2. Install the PWA: tap the Share icon → Add to Home Screen.
  3. Lock to Guided Access (iPad): Settings → Accessibility → Guided Access → On. Start a Guided Access session so the kiosk is the only app customers can use.

5 · Authorise the Device

  1. Launch the kiosk app and enter your myshopify.com domain.
  2. Select the Location to authorise; the app shows a pairing code.
  3. Back in Shopify Admin, go to Device Management → Sync New Device, enter the code, and click Authorise.

Once the device is synced, shoppers can browse, add items, and scan the QR to pay—no staff intervention required.
